For many years, Sekai Viewer has been a place to look up Project Sekai cards, music, events, and other game information. Thank you to everyone who has used it, shared it, and supported it along the way.
Today, I would like to share the next long-term plan for Sekai Viewer: we will gradually move from the current, legacy Sekai Viewer to Sekai Viewer Reborn.
This will be a careful transition, not a sudden switch-off. The current Sekai Viewer will remain available while the new experience is developed and improved.
Why we are making this change
The current site has served the community well, but it was built over a long period of time. As Project Sekai has grown, the site has grown with it. Adding new features, improving existing pages, and keeping everything easy to use has become harder than it should be.
Sekai Viewer Reborn is a new foundation for the future. Its goal is simple: make Sekai Viewer easier to use, easier to improve, and better able to grow with the game and its community.
For users, this means a cleaner and more focused experience over time. Pages can be improved one by one instead of waiting for one very large update. It also gives us a better path for new tools and for making game information easier to find and share.
Where things stand today
Sekai Viewer Reborn is already under active development. The first public-facing area, the content site, is the main focus and has working pages for game information such as cards, music, characters, and events.
This is still an ongoing project. Some parts of the wider Sekai Viewer experience are not ready yet, and the new site does not yet include everything that exists on the current site. That is why the legacy Sekai Viewer will continue to be available during the transition.
The migration roadmap
The move will happen in stages:
- Improve the new content site. We will continue making the existing pages more complete, clearer, and more useful.
- Bring over important features. Features from the current Sekai Viewer will be reviewed and added to Reborn when they are ready.
- Guide users to the new site. When a new page or feature is ready, we will make it easier to find and use from the current Sekai Viewer.
- Retire the legacy site carefully. Only after the new experience covers the important everyday needs will we begin to retire the older site.
There is no final retirement date to announce today. The pace will depend on what can be completed reliably and on feedback from the community. We do not want to remove something people still need before there is a good replacement for it.
What you need to do
For now, you do not need to do anything. Keep using the current Sekai Viewer as usual.
When parts of Sekai Viewer Reborn are ready, we will share updates and explain where to find them. If you try the new experience, your feedback will help decide what should be improved and what should move next.
Thank you for being part of Sekai Viewer. This change will take time, but the goal is to build a more useful and sustainable home for Project Sekai information in the years ahead.
